Everyone knows a quake has hit chile early this morning but now there is a Tsunami warning all around the west coast. It's on one news station and thats for Hawaii. I feel like they shouldnt even issue a warning here if they are not going to keep us up to date or have it on the news at least so we know what to think. I live right on the beach of oceanside CA and have no idea what to do or how serious it really is. The news can talk about tiger woods on 20 channels at a time but not a tsunami that could danger people's lives and property. I dont understand. What precautions should I take? I live RIGHT by the water.
Answer :
The news here are a disgusting joke. They became a lame attempt at "entertainment", it's not news anymore, it's just a lot of fluff followed by tv idiots yaketing their nonsensical and irrelevant opinions. I am watching the Mexican coverage on the earthquake and tsunami, on the Mexican channel, which usually sucks and I hate to have in my cable package, to be honest, but I must say that even not getting the language completely I can see it is a much better coverage than CNN or FOX. And it does not have 3 billion commercial interruptions, either. I am going to get some foreign channels or something, I am totally sick of American "news".
Answer :
Actually they say it shouldn't be that bad on the west coast, mostly rip tides in the water. NOAA only issued an advisory for CA, OR, and WA. Hawaii is supposed to receive the brunt of whatever tsumami is approaching.
Answer :
if you were in any real danger you would know. other than that you are pretty much right.
