Where can a mother-daughter go on a trip together? Ideas?

I like the idea of going to South Carolina with my mom. I will be 13 and she will be in her mid-40's
she however, wants to take a quiet trip down by the shore for the day, while my brother and Dad will be spending 2 weeks backpacking across New Mexico! I want something equal to that. Here are some regulations
If its a cruise, its not longer than 7 days
If it's over 200-300 miles away, we're flying
No leaving America (unless its Canada)
She doesnt like backpacking-hiking
we live in central CT

so far my few ideas are:
Orlando, Disney
Anaheim/LA
South Carolina-ie Myrtle Beach
Arizona
Canadian river cruise
Hawaii
Seattle/Vancouver


what is there to do in these places? What is the most pricey? Cheapest?

Pricy- Hawaii- Obviously.

Cheapest- None, really.

I would recomenned going to New York with your mother. You can go to the Statue of Liberty/ Ellis Island and possibly go on a boat.

Go to a show on Broadway- very nice.

Go shopping! Lots of stores in NY.

Go to the place where the Today show films- You can be on television.

Go to Central Park- lots of things. I believe there are carriage rides.

There is a lot to do down there. It is not that far from where you live!
